This authentic Sámi experience begins with an exhilarating journey deeper into the landscape, traveling via snowmobile-pulled sled through the silent, snowy forest. This short, comfortable trip takes just 20 minutes to reach our hidden, traditional Sámi camp. Once arrived you will meet the friendly reindeer and help Niklas (our local guide/herder) feed the herd. You will learn about the importance of these animals to the culture, and receive instruction on how to harness a reindeer for a short, traditional sled ride through the landscape. This provides a true taste of Arctic Sámi life and helps to preserve these essential skills.

This immersive Sámi adventure tour involves more than just observation. You will spend extended time within the camp to truly understand the day-to-day life and traditions of the community. Warm drinks and snacks are served by an open fire inside a lavvu (a traditional tent), providing warmth and atmosphere. While cozy and warm, your host will share captivating stories and insights into the Sámi culture, their history, and their spiritual relationship with the land. The time spent at the camp is intended to evoke a sense of peace and connection—the Sáivvo Spirit itself—making this a deeply educational and meaningful experience.

This Sáivvo Spirit Sami adventure is a unique half-day experience suitable for most guests. For your comfort and warmth during the snowmobile-pulled sled journey, you will be wrapped in thick, warm furs. The trip to the remote camp takes just 20 minutes, ensuring minimal travel time. Please come dressed in suitable winter outdoor clothing, gloves, and a warm hat, though extra warm furs are provided for the sled trip. We kindly ask that you inform us of any food allergies or restrictions upon booking so we can accommodate your needs and ensure a safe, enjoyable tour.
